When Winston Churchill was asked to cut arts fundind during World War II, he replied "then, what are we fighting for?"
It took me a while to identify art as something important for me. My main career is in finance, and I am happy to say I really enjoy it. I also understand how lucky I am to be able to say that.
I find it crazy that in life, like in war, we sometimes lose sight of what we are fighting for. Sometimes it takes us some time to recognize the important things that build our happiness. Things we need to make time for.
For me, it took a trip to India where I was taking photos with my phone nonstop.
My friend said: "Why don't you take a photography course?"
I said: "Huh?"
And the rest, as they say, is history. Art, in the form of photography, became one of the important things for me.
I am lucky enought to live in Madrid, where we are spoiled for choices in so many things, including photography schools. I have taken courses in a number of them, but I also study online, through books and on my own.
I am so lucky to live in a city that makes most of the world accessible by plane, which helps me enjoy my love for travel. I also have an increasing list of places I want to visit and photograph really close to home. So many beautiful places to explore.
On the technical side:
I am a Nikon fan (my father is a Nikon fan in the analogic era, so I guess tradition called), for both my cameras and lenses.
I edit in both Lightroom and Photoshop, and I find combining them works the best for me. But if I have to choose, I am probaby a Lightroom girl.
I also love cats (this is both technical info and one of the important things in life :-) )
Thank you for your visit!
